OCTAVIAN SERBANESCU MD.

Dr. Octavian Serbanescu is a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon with extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders. His expertise includes arthroscopic surgery, hip and knee joint replacement, trauma surgery, and sports medicine, managing both degenerative conditions and sports- or trauma-related injuries. Throughout his career, he has performed more than 1,200 intra-articular knee injections and over 300 subacromial injections, gaining extensive experience in evaluating patients and determining the most appropriate conservative or surgical treatment for knee, shoulder, and hip conditions.

Education

Dr. Serbanescu graduated from the "Carol Davila" University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest between 2003 and 2009. He completed his residency in Orthopaedics and Traumatology at the Foișor Clinical Hospital of Orthopaedics, Traumatology and Osteoarticular Tuberculosis in Bucharest between 2011 and 2015. His professional training has been further enhanced through numerous international courses organized by AO Trauma, ESSKA, and EPOS, focusing on trauma surgery, arthroscopy, and paediatric orthopaedics.

Professional Experience

Throughout his clinical practice, Dr. Octavian Serbanescu has diagnosed and treated a wide range of degenerative, sports-related, and traumatic musculoskeletal conditions. His experience includes more than 1,200 intra-articular knee injections, over 300 subacromial injections, as well as the assessment and surgical management of patients with knee osteoarthritis, rotator cuff tears, shoulder instability, meniscal injuries, anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears, patellofemoral instability, and fractures.

Dr. Serbanescu has participated in the ESSKA Congress in Glasgow (2018) and Milan (2024), as well as numerous international training courses organized by AO Trauma, ESSKA, and EPOS in the fields of trauma surgery, arthroscopic surgery, shoulder surgery, knee surgery, foot and ankle surgery, and paediatric orthopaedics.
