Hip health in the first months of life is essential for a child’s harmonious development. Centrokinetic Cluj is organizing a FREE screening for the detection of hip dysplasia, addressed to babies aged between 2 weeks and 3 months.
The event will take place on March 22, 2026, at Centrokinetic Cluj, Str. Intre Lacuri no. 1, and evaluations will be carried out in pre-scheduled time slots.
What is hip dysplasia?
Hip dysplasia is a condition present at birth in which the hip joint is not completely stable or properly formed. Essentially, the femoral head is not perfectly positioned in the hip socket, which can affect the normal development of the joint.
Important to know:
In most cases, hip dysplasia does not cause pain and shows no obvious signs in the first months of life. That is precisely why early evaluation is essential.
Why is screening important in the first 3 months?
If not diagnosed and treated in time, hip dysplasia can later lead to:
- limping
- hip pain
- limited mobility
- differences in leg length
- the need for complex surgical interventions
On the other hand, when detected early, treatment is simple, effective, and in most cases non-invasive.
The first months of life represent the optimal period for diagnosis and correction.
What does the screening include?
The free evaluation includes:
- clinical consultation performed by a specialist or senior consultant in pediatric orthopedics
- hip ultrasound
Ultrasound is a painless, radiation-free investigation and is the standard method for evaluating hips in newborns and infants.
The duration of the evaluation is approximately 15–20 minutes for each child.

The screening is carried out by specialist and senior consultant pediatric orthopedic doctors, as part of an event organized by the Association for Pediatric Orthopedics and Traumatology (AOTP), in partnership with Centrokinetic.
